Meet Russ Nesevich
Russ Nesevich is the founder and managing partner of Nesevich Law, LLC, an estate planning firm based in New Jersey. With a strong foundation in finance from his time at Goldman Sachs and Resource Securities, Russ brings a wealth of knowledge to his legal practice. He had also previously co-founded a different law firm focused on estate and business succession planning. In the fall of 2017, Russ took the plunge and started his own solo law firm: Nesevich Law. Today, the growing team at Nesevich Law embodies Russ’ philosophy and leverages his unique expertise to safeguard families and their assets at every stage of life.

Because we're a high volume firm, we need systems to manage everything, and Lawmatics gets it done.”

The mission

As Nesevich Law grew from solo to mid-sized firm, the practice faced challenges unique to estate planning: balancing sensitive client relationships, intricate financial details, and operational demands without sacrificing quality. Competing priorities risked delays, lapses in communication, and a disruption of the personalized service clients expect. As the practice expanded, Russ identified the need for a structured, automated solution to streamline operations and uphold the firm’s meticulous standards. The mission was clear: scale responsibly while delivering the personalized, five-star service every client deserves.

Challenges

Maximizing bandwidth

For nearly three years, Russ ran Nesevich Law solo before hiring his first full-time staff member. As the practice grew, juggling client communication, case management, and administrative duties alone became increasingly challenging. Without dedicated support, Russ faced the strain of maintaining high service standards while managing an ever-expanding workload, leaving little room to focus on strategic growth.

Scaling five-star service

The firm’s small team and growing workload initially limited its capacity to take on new clients. As Nesevich Law expanded into a mid-size practice, Russ faced the challenge of scaling the business while safeguarding the firm’s reputation for exceptional client care. Without a clear strategy, growth meant putting the firm at risk of stretching resources thin and jeopardizing client trust.

Frustrating technology

Before adopting Lawmatics, Russ tried another software solution — with frustrating results. “Oh man, I don't even remember the name of the software, but I hated it. I had such a violent reaction to it,” he said. “I just burned money to try to make that thing work, but I hated using it. So we gave up on that.” Without reliable software, Nesevich Law relied on spreadsheets and paper lists, which only added to the stress of managing daily operations.

Our entire team is in Lawmatics every day. Intake, paralegals, COO, reception, the attorneys. We have 12 people and we have 12 Lawmatics users.”

Benefit highlights

Increased hire rate

Nesevich Law guides each client through the pipeline at their own pace, eliminating bottlenecks and delivering a stress-free experience Automated reminders for meetings, updates, and follow-ups keep clients informed and operations running smoothly. “The automations increase the number of touches we have with our clients, both pre-and-post them becoming clients,” Russ explains. This attentiveness makes every client feel seen and cared for, boosting conversion and hire rates.

Sustainable operations

Streamlined processes like client intake have been pivotal in transforming Nesevich Law from a solo practice into a thriving firm. “It would be impossible to run the volume of business that we currently run in the same way that we ran the practice five years ago.” According to Russ, the firm has saved tens of thousands of dollars because Lawmatics saves the staff time and converts leads that would have otherwise been lost to a competing firm.

Large-scale communication

By hosting webinars and workshops, Nesevich Law has built an email list of more than 10,000 contacts in Lawmatics. These contacts are entered into drip campaigns, like email newsletters, that keep the firm in touch at least once a month. Staying top of mind with these leads has proven essential for increasing conversions and maintaining a competitive edge. “It just gives us an opportunity to grow faster than other firms,” says Russ.

Stronger referral connections

With Lawmatics, Russ periodically receives automated reminders to reach out to community partners. By organizing contact details and notes within their CRM, the firm strengthens relationships that drive new client referrals and foster a supportive network. Programs like Nesevich Law Cares further enhance community engagement, allowing clients to choose a local charity to receive a contribution when their documents are completed, deepening trust and goodwill.

5-star reviews

Nesevich Law’s commitment to white-glove service has earned it an outstanding reputation in New Jersey. “We have 425 five-star reviews on Google,” Russ shares, noting the firm averages one new five-star review per week. This consistency stems from delivering personalized experiences through the automations and processes built in Lawmatics, ensuring every client feels valued and cared for from initial inquiry to case closed (and beyond).

Data-backed marketing

Nesevich Law tracks marketing ROI by tagging each lead by source, enabling detailed reporting to evaluate campaign performance. “We can use those tags to determine whether or not that use of funds on a particular campaign was money well-spent or money poorly spent.” To fuel continued growth, the firm recently brought on a full-time marketing coordinator to analyze ROI and refine their marketing strategy for maximum impact.

Power features

Automations

Automated client follow-ups and drip campaigns form the backbone of Nesevich Law’s conversion strategy. These communications ensure that clients feel valued and acknowledged, even when the firm is juggling multiple cases. “They know you’re thinking of them because an automated email or reminder went out.” He added that automation helps the firm deliver for its clients consistently and scalably. “My hope is that whether you meet with me in my office in Manalapan or you meet with me in my office in Moorestown, you have approximately the same experience.”

Tasks

Tasks

Tasks are the glue that binds the team's commitment to unparalleled client service at Nesevich Law. With tasks, nothing gets overlooked, there’s a record of all actions, and every client interaction is meticulously planned. “It really helps us with our conversions,” Russ says. “If a client tells us they want to think about hiring us, I can assign a task five days from now for my intake coordinator to give them a follow-up call.” This proactive approach is pivotal in nurturing a world-class client journey, reflecting the firm's unwavering dedication to putting clients first.

Status reports

Nesevich Law captures detailed data points for every lead, from initial contact to final outcome. By tagging leads with specifics like source and conversion stage, the firm can generate in-depth reports on marketing channels and client demographics to refine their strategy. Combined with a kanban board, these insights provide an at-a-glance view of the sales pipeline.“The ability to change a client status and move them through our process is really, really helpful.”
Reporting & Insights

It would be impossible to run the volume of business that we currently run in the same way that we ran the practice five years ago without Lawmatics, literally impossible.”
